Shopping for clothes is tricky sometimes especially when it’s for clothes for kids because you just want to get them the cutest, most beautiful outfits with every shopping spree. However, children grow so fast and they only wear some items a few times! So what I tend to buy for my daughter is one occasional designer piece to wear for special parties or at the weekend and for the rest of the week for home and play centre and running around in the countryside I obviously go for clothes and shoes that look stylish, comfortable and that are not too expensive.
To tell you the truth, until this month, I had never set foot in a KIABI store maybe because I thought I would not find anything that would suit my tastes. But – how wrong I was! In Malta I learnt there is a KIABI store in Burmarrad and there is one in Qormi, very large stores with clothes and accessories for all children, teens, men and women and as their slogan states “La Mode a Petit Prix”. Things are at a very affordable price. I popped in to the Burmarrad one

What do you think of my shopping spree?!! I went home feeling like a made a fantastic shop and I will definitely go back for more. I was told that new stock arrives in store every week, which means that new models and styles come in all the time. That’s awesome! Thank You KIABI for the invitation! 🙂
3 Golden Tips when shopping for kids’ clothes and shoes
1. Buy multiples, but not so many.
Once you find something that fits, is comfortable, and looks good, buy more than one, preferably in a different colour. It will save you time and try-on exhaustion. It will also reduce the chance of “favourite pants syndrome,” in which one pair gets worn to shreds while the others sit, untouched, in the wardrobe.
2. Remember the shoes.
Kids’ feet grow at a remarkable rate, so always measure their feet and buy shoes as necessary. Keep a section tagged “When Older”, as you will find that you will buy wrong sized shoes and you get presents from family in the wrong size.
3. Once you’re home, re-evaluate your purchases before you remove the tags.
As a highly emotional person, in the frenzy of clothing stores, my decision-making ability can fail me and I go super crazy matching head to toe full outfits! They are sooo cute!! But once I’m home, I can lay out my purchases, match them with the clothes we already have, and notice that some don’t really work. So I will put them back into the shopping bag for return/exchange with the tags still on the same week.
Do you have any tips you would like to share with me and other mum shoppers?
Love and light to all
