A Touch of Purple

Last week I was invited to the official launch of Aussie hair products in Malta at The Galley alongside the Malta Royal Yacht Club in Ta Xbiex. True to the fun and playful hair product brand, we enjoyed a chill atmosphere, a BBQ in full swing and fabulous people from the fashion industry. The seaside event set beautifully with views of the Valletta Grand Harbour across the port was destined to be a success.

The dress code to this event said “Dress: You with a touch of purple”! So after wrecking my brains trying to think what purple accessories I could wear, and didn’t find anything in my closet, I remembered that the Ophelia Collection of the Maltese designer Carla Grima on the catwalks of Malta Fashion Week 2016 had a myriad of printed dresses tops and scarves with a touch of purple.

So I looked on the internet and found the perfect dress for this event – The Chloe Dress online on Carla’s website and made an appointment to go and try on this beautiful piece. I love the design, the colours, the fabric and when I tried it on, it suited me perfectly, so I decided that this was going to the one for me!

For the Aussie event, I styled it in a kind of ethnic way. By choosing gold items it gave the look a chic feel and aesthetically made my skin look tanned all the more! I picked these lovely gold accessories including a necklace, two bracelets, a ring and a Braccialini gold purse from Porto at Portomaso Shopping Complex and splurged on these pretty wedges by Primadonna.

I got these new pair of Prada sunglasses with the metal bridge from the latest summer 2016 collection. They really worked their cool magic with this look. I absolutely love them and so did some of the guests at the party. Hair was styled with braids on the sides by Marijana’s Salon in St Julians who offered to spoil me for this event. Make up was done by Daniela at Melita Health and Beauty Centre.

I’m very grateful. The event was good fun as I got to meet lots of beautiful people and fellow bloggers too. I learnt some information about the Aussie products that are best for my hair type by the team of consultants. We each got a little goodie bag with Aussie products to try out, so I will happily oblige and let you know what I think.
