Last week saw me attend the second edition of APEROCHIC Fashion Event held at AX The Palace Hotel in Sliema. The event was coordinated in good taste as to be expected by the 5 star team at the AX The Palace Hotel in the relaxing elegant foyer and Talk of The Town cafe area, which was full to the brim with attendees who are fashion conscious and socialites. One could enjoy a fashion show while networking, sipping on some cocktails and feasting on some tasty bites after work.
I attended the event with Denis and Coco, a couple of fashionista friends.. One of the reasons I was looking forward to this, was because I had missed the launching fashion show of PARASCANDALO at the Malta Fashion Awards this year due to film work commitments, so this was my pleasant perfect opportunity to see some of his work first-hand and to be able to share it with you all on the Blog to support this local designer Marco Parascandalo.
The collection looks pretty awesome. I liked quite a few casual and smart looks. My favorite dresses were the ones with the colored leather tassels, a blue evening gown which reminded me of the Disney character Elsa’s dress in Frozen, and there was a pleated skirt which caught my attention too. So unique, daring and vibrant designed for the woman who likes to be playful and make a statement at the same time.
Half a decade after breaking into the local fashion scene with a series of bold slogans that are now Maltese clothing staples, Marco Parascandalois still going strong. Actually, if this year’s collection unveiling was anything to go by, my opinion is that the Maltese designer is only getting stronger and I wish him so much success in his career. Like all entrepreneurs, he works very hard to keep on top of his game and for this, I admire his audacity very much.
I would like to congratulate the team at AX The Palace, in particular, Jeanette Bezzina for co-ordinating the event APEROCHIC, to Jeff Francalanza and Alan J Darmanin who provided the models for the show. Make up was done by Rhona Gatt and the rest you can see in these photos above and below.
