The Classic Cotton Dress is Back!

A fashion blog in collaboration with Marie Zelie brand

While waiting out the last of the sunny months may feel like a never ending cycle, there’s no better time to start preparing and daydreaming about the cosy winter months ahead. Now is the time to pack away your summer clothes, and bring out your heavy coats and winter boots and begin the fun prep on your seasonal closet refresh leading to Christmas and New Year. This year, I m very much into cardigans and knits but I must admit that I have a new must-have seasonal essential for my winter in Malta weather wardrobe – It is undoubtedly the perfect long cotton dress (or three), and this season, they’re available in a multitude of styles, patterns, and colours by many brands, ensuring us that there’s no wrong way to shop for a cute, comfortable dress. With the weather app becoming less of a daily enemy, free-flowing silhouettes are soon to take over – and I must say – Im lovin this one I chose from Marie Zelie brand.

A pinnacle style for the Autumn and Winter season, cotton dresses have never gone out of style. The bright and playful prints will bring an element of fun, insouciant glamour to your warm weather wardrobe while paisley prints and pops of colour, capture the essence of the abundant season. Then you just need to layer it with a cosy cardigan or a gorgeous coat and scarf until you get to the next heated destination indoors. The free-flowing casual silhouettes will undoubtedly become one of your favourite Winter dresses to wear from day-to-night if you give them the chance. They are so comfortable and hug your body at the right places 😉 Will they be your favourite too?

This month I m very privileged to be collaborating with the brand Marie Zelie from Poland to show you a few looks and offer you my discount code to benefit from when making purchases online.

Their website: and Instagram @mariezeliebrand #Mariezeliebrand

Marie Zelie is a polish based fashion brand, focusing solely on timeless, elegant dresses that can be worn season after season. They create feminine but still comfortable clothing – classic cuts with a modern twist.

They use natural fabrics, value ethical fashion, with focus on high quality that will last for years. Their inspiration is a Catholic saint – Maria Zelia Martin, a woman who founded her own lace factory. They base their activities on the classic triad: beauty, goodness, and truth. Their goal is to popularize the celebration of everyday life, also through a neat appearance. In fact their motto is “femininity wrapped in quality” At Marie Zélie they claim to “make every effort to offer their clients as much as possible”.

All their pieces are made in Poland, so purchasing from them ensures you receive a quality product that supports European manufacturing. I can feel from the fabric of this dress that it really is made to last well, with a sturdier standard evident in the material than the kind of cheap thin stretch fabrics you find offered on the high street. This fabric is lovely and soft, with tons of stretch for comfort and ease of movement, and elegance in its drape.

I styled this dress by pairing it with a cute dark blue wool beret from their current collection, a white classic statement bag from Beauty Closets, shoes were my own from a few years ago and a gold pyrite crystal necklace from the online shop at Gemstones & Jewellery by GC. Together, the combo looks classy and chic and I loved wearing them so much!
