Summer Kitchen Press Event at Corinthia Palace Hotel

Last Thursday July 6th, I had the pleasure of attending a culinary event held for members of the press at the Summer Kitchen restaurant, the outdoor poolside venue at Malta’s Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa. A very intimate event for influencers, online and magazine editors was organised to get us to savour some of the new, tasty items on the lunch menu.

The award-winning team of chefs has created a Mediterranean menu for the summer months utilising local fresh fruit, vegetables and other ingredients. We started off with a selection of antipasti and meze dishes which got our taste buds going, together with our discussions about diets, children, gym workouts and of course the hot weather!

Then we were served a very tasty fregola with seafood, a type of pasta originating in Sardinia served warm with a tomato and roasted peppers broth. Then came a trio of burgers with different fillings. The beef was incredibly tender and the fillings very tasty. Nice bite to eat during the day, especially if you are lounging by the pool and want something comforting and delicious to get you through to the late afternoon. For fish lovers, there is a special, in my opinion the best looking dish and most pleasant one of the lot – the wild seabass dish presented on a plate with tomatoes, compressed water melon, and a stuffed courgette flower! Super duper!

By now we were all pretty stuffed but we still made space for what landed next. To end our lunch on a fantastic note, we got to relish a selection of various Summer Kitchen desserts. Needless to say, I ate them all with glee, one after the other!

The summer menu at Summer Kitchen is one aimed to please everyone including healthy choices, light bites and delicious desserts. This luncheon was fantastic in a beautiful ambiance with such an interesting bunch of people. Thank you for the kind invite! We will be back.
