Day 4 was rainy and windy but everything at Malta Fashion Week ran smoothly as the management kept pushing for the show to go on. When the rain stopped and all were seated, we were blessed with a fashion show I always look forward to – one for menswear with Gagliardi who presented a mixed collection with both Spring/Summer and Autumn Winter pieces. The two collections featured sharp tailoring, exquisite styling modelled by the finest selection of male models on the island.

The second show of the night was by Fiona Vella, a designer I admire very much and I have worked with many times in the past 4 years. Fiona came back to Fashion Week with a comeback this year with her couture collection, and mesmerized the audience with her use of textures and clever design, ending the night with spectacular ball gown. If you see one of Fiona’s pieces, you will recognise it instantly because Fiona works on each piece herself, sewing the lace manually by hand and has a very sharp attention to detail. Well done Fiona for a wonderful, high quality show of craftmanship and class!
