Backstage with MAC Cosmetics at Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018

About a month ago, I received an invitation from MAC Cosmetics Italia, MAC Malta at The Point, Valletta and Sliema to experience a BACKSTAGE EXPERIENCE with a VIP PASS at Milan Fashion Week! This is a great experience for any blogger, one you cannot refuse.  To see the make up being done a few hours before the beautiful models hit the runways and to be able to share some of it with you all! If you were following my live updates on Instagram Stories, you could see how vibrant and exciting it all was for everyone involved and I too had a great time just vlogging and interviewing beautiful people from across the globe. Yes I love my job and I’m so grateful every single day.

For the Luisa Beccaria Fashion Show, the make up look chosen was very natural and minimalistic to give that fresh glow to the beautiful models, all gorgeous in their own way.

It was my first appointment in the morning, and as I politely squeezed my way in to the venue at Via Elvezia, in between the several make up artists who were very focused on doing a good job, I could feel how dedicated everyone was. The lead make up artist was Cythia Rivas who was kind enough to stop for 5 minutes to show me the final look and to explain that the look is all about “fresh and enhanced natural beauty, enhancing the natural tones found within the skin and added some individual lashes to give a natural feminine flirtatious eye.”

Of course we all know that MAC is one of the best brands in the world right now well-renowned for its quality, for its success and for its trending capacity in the ever-changing fashion industry. For Milan Fashion Week, teams of top make  up artists travel from one fashion metropole to another to bring every designer’s make up look to a perfection. What happens is that the MAC director and their team receive photos of their collection and then they create looks for every show. To be backstage for these main catwalks is always magical and surprisingly calm. It seems so perfectly organised and there is a lot of team work.

Many make up artists are full-blown professionals in their own countries and they all drop their work to come over to participate in this week of fashion. They do it because they love their jobs and they are here to enjoy the experience. This is what fashion week is about! Coming together to make dreams become reality.

Just like some of us bloggers and media reporters who are here out of our own initiative to learn about the current trends and the designers and to develop our skills in the industry, these make up gurus work together to bring out the best product on the runway.

After the make up is done, the models went to the hairdressing section to have their styles finished, then off to the changing rooms in preparation for the fashion show. This was how the make up and hair looked on the runway with some of Luisa Beccaria’s beautiful creations. Simply stunning!

From this appointment backstage, I left to the next appointment, filled with happiness in my heart, feeling so blessed for this opportunity , to be here even if for a few moments. Thank you MAC Cosmetics for this wonderful opportunity and for all the persons who made this happen for me. See you next Fashion Week!
