Time to Say Goodbye to Summer

Another summer is coming to an end and I cannot say I’m jumping with joy. I love summer. I live for summer and everything that comes with it – the long days, fresh fruits in season, lots of vacation time, lots of summer clothes and ice creams… aaah! Well truth is when the kids start school and it rains a few times in Malta, then we tend to stop going to the beach and get ready for autumn and winter, so here we are .. We officially bid “au revoir” to summer and thank you for the wonderful moments. Our little girl Luna starts school in October this year,  so I’m so excited for her, although my routine will have to change to adapt to the school times! We’ ll see. We always manage to find a way of making things happen and make them fun in our own kind of way.

Whether we want to accept it or not, darker mornings and colder nights are soon upon us, so we need to adjust our wardrobes accordingly. So if you haven’t already turned over a new leaf and started planning your winter wardrobe essentials, perhaps this week is a good time to get started. I’ve just begun this process today and I’ve done some important work at home in preparation for the months ahead of us.

Few Tips to get You Started

1. Clean Out Your Wardrobe

There is no better way to make space for more items and to assess everything you own. Go through your wardrobe methodically, piece by piece. Throw away anything that you haven’t worn in the last twelve months or no longer fits you. Consider selling these items online or better yet, donate them to charity.

2.Assess Your Lifestyle

The perfect wardrobe should not only reflect your personal style, but also your lifestyle. For example, corporate dresses and high heels won’t be so appropriate if you work from home or spend your day on the go carrying kids all day. What you wear should compliment with how you live.

3.Quality Over Quantity

I know it is so difficult but try to have a wardrobe mixed with high-quality key pieces and low-cost essentials that can work together beautifully to give you your personal style. I am a complicated one and my dress sense varies a lot but I do try to look for quality pieces over a large amount of on-trend items. And remember fit is everything. There are some core go-to pieces that a women’s autumn/winter wardrobe shouldn’t be without, like a good sweater, pair of jeans, blazer, coat, blouse and long sleeve dress, but stick to what styles work best for you and keep it refreshing in unexpected and inventive ways.

In these beautiful photos I am showing a pretty blue bikini from Piccinino Lingerie in Malta and a matching sarong. I am sporting mirror Rayban shades from the latest eyewear collections at Vision Opticians. Hair was styled by Alberto at Niumee while make up was done by Natasha Polidano. This will be my last swimwear post this summer. I hope you enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed showing them to you here, on Facebook and on Instagram.

We are travelling this week to a cooler country followed by another trip the following wee, so we have lots to organise and things to share with you as we go along… So do stay tuned and follow us especially our Instagram Stories for up to the minute updates xxx
