The FINO EXPO 2018 -what a huge success it was!

Now that winter is truly upon us, it’s time to get cosy! Not only do we change our clothing wardrobe but some of us also feel the need to look at some new home décor or furnishings too. Well, earlier this month FINO Malta opened its doors to the general public over an EXPO weekend with a difference.

It was a special opportunity for clients to get the usual top notch service from all the FINO team but also enjoy a myriad of entertainment spots including on site chefs, TV presenters with food and free flowing wine throughout the two days. Hundreds of attendees turned up both days and it was interesting to meet some people and talk about their current requirements in their homes or offices. Things are really changing with everyone’s lifestyles and with our lives becoming seemingly busier, the choice of furniture and designs totally reflect our lifestyles!

Below is a list of the EXPO agenda and as you can imagine it was fun to be there to be a part of all the action and go around the showrooms for ideas or assistance for advice. With my phone in hand, posting on social media on Instagram and Facebook, I was there too both days and met with some of FINO’s clients while stopping at the different stations for some cheeky food and wine tasting on the way. I was happy to also assist some clients with personal styling ideas for their homes. If they asked me for my opinion, I was very happy to give my personal GC touch!

HOME STYLING TIPS

I would also like to share a few Autumn/ Winter Home Styling Tipskeeping in mind Autumn/ Winter 2018/2019 styling trends.

1. TACTILE KITCHENS

Kitchens are no longer simply about one style of units, a worktop and a complementary backdrop. The new and exciting trend of tactile kitchens is all about mixing it up – different textures sat next to each other, contrasting in both colour and touch. A sleek quartz work surface with an integrated solid wood chopping board or dark cabinet against a clean marbled background, makes for an eye-catching space, and one that is full of character.

2. MODERN NEUTRALS

This trend was in many years in a row and it still holds this year. This is a combination of different elements that creates a beautiful and simple look with the emphasis on natural-looking furniture. Here there’s been a focus on stripped timbers, wood grain and a return to simple, natural discolorationsand materials within furniture. Team this with gently patterned crockery, soft grey chairs and a neutral block coloured textured rug to complete this soothing trend.

3. BRIGHT SHAPES

For the ones who are looking to create a more uplifting mood, playful and full of colour, the bright shape and colour trend is certainly a happy one. Look out for bold shades in different shapes – stripes, geometrical, spots and blocks and you can’t go wrong. Pop it all together and you’ll have this trend spot on. Experiment with a mix and match of graphic designs, bold colours and clean lines. Running through it all is a confidence to clash not match. The only rule? Make it modern and careful not to go too 80s..
