Last week I was invited to attend a #SHOEPARTY organised by BATA Malta. Just the title of the invitation made me jump with joy as this is another excuse for me to dress up, meet some beautiful people in a fashionable environment and of course shop for some new items to add to my seasonal collection. I think I am a shopaholic but I’m not sure if I fall under that category. To be investigated!
The event was held in Valletta at the flagship store in Piazza San Gorg, situated very close to Caffe Cordina one of my fave coffee shops so I wore a new elegant black jumpsuit from River Island and off I went to the capital city.
Myself and a number of guests were invited to witness the latest collections in store ranging from casuals to dress shoes, bags and accessories for women, men and children of all ages. We were treated to free flowing rose’ wine and canapes and sweet treats. There was also a team of hairdressers and makeup artists from Inglot to give small makeovers to anyone in the shop. This was fun! So, I went around the entire store like a child in a candy store and I did fall in love with a couple of things including a red purse and a black pair of wedges which are now my new babies!
I met a number of TV celebrities and social media influencers who endorse the brand and it was once again so nice to just mingle and talk about fashion and shoes and things that interest us. Evenings like these are always welcome.
What is it about shopping for shoes that makes me and all women out there so happy?
There might be a psychological explanation for women’s obsession with shoes but whatever it is, everyone feels good sporting a new pair of shoes as they look great on everyone and are not dependent on our age, shape or size.
So go out and buy more and more shoes!
