My Yellow Coat

This season, I was drawn like a magnet to this warm yellow coat from Stefanel. I thought of shooting this coat for a fashion blog during my holiday in Tuscany with my friends and what better place to do it than in Florence’s Piazza del Duomo, a destination rich in history and culture and shopping outlets!

With Filippo Brunelleschi’s red-tiled dome, the Duomo is a stupefying construction whose white, green and pink marble facade and elegant bell tower dominate the medieval cityscape. From the time the architect Arnolfo di Cambio began work on it 1296, its construction took approximately 150 years. It still stands magnificently for everyone’s enjoyment and it offers a museum that is open daily for viewings.

I obviously love the colour of the coat, which is also one of the top 10 hottest colours this season, it makes a refreshing change to all the dark coloured winter coats out there. Paired with basics, it adds a pop of colour and texture to any outfit as a statement jacket.

To explore this Tuscan capital city, I wore my hair up in a casual high bun and accessorised it with these pretty red suede shoes by Zara and a black leather bag by Liu Jo.

Personal fashion tip of the week:

Every Autumn/Winter season, when shopping, get yourself a statement jacket. As it names says, it makes a statement, no matter what you are wearing underneath. Over a little black dress, it is the perfect way to complete that date night look. No matter whether you want to go casual and comfortable with jeans and flats, or smarten it up with tights and stiletto heels, a statement coat can make all the difference. The best thing about it is that is takes all the attention and can turn that bad day into instant success!
