The retired N.B.A. star, 41, and his daughter Gianna were among nine people in a helicopter that crashed near Calabasas, Calif. A college baseball coach and his wife and daughter were also killed last night.

I noticed right away on Instagram that this tragedy happened this morning when I saw posts from his celebrity friends including Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Campbell who wrote beautiful, heartfelt messages of heartbreak and sincere condolences to the families who suffered this unplanned accident. Not only did the sports scene lose an icon too soon, but it shocked everyone to the core when news came out that the daughter too left this world with him.

Kobe Bryant, on the day he died, was not a five-time NBA champion, or an international icon who helped bring his entire sport to a worldwide audience, or a transcendent athlete who put two numbers in the rafters at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. He was just a dad taking his daughter to a travel basketball game!

And, man, he was a proud dad.

The clips of Bryant talking about Gianna were everywhere on social media. He spoke about her and her sisters being underwhelmed at his L.A. celebrity status. He talked about the need for her to find positive role models in sports. He sat on the set with Jimmy Kimmel and gushed about her skills as a basketball player. It was another day in his amazing life…. And just like that, without warning, it was his time to leave this world. Why? Is this fair? What is the world mourning? What can we take positively from this shocking day?

We all have families. We all relate to Family issues and events like these just remind us of priorities in life and how in just one moment, everything can be taken away from us!

When we face problems that involve health, death, hitting rock bottom situations, we do get shaken so much and remember What Truly Matters.

Not the money, not the car, not the job, not the mansion we don’t have but let’s Be Grateful for Everything we Do Have Every Day! Our planet, our opportunity to be alive at this time. Humanity is reminding once again about being grateful for Each Day we have! Coz, today we are here and tomorrow is no guarantee of today!

I wish to also send love and sincere condolences to not only the family of Bryant but to all Families out there who are experiencing rough moments. Hang on in there. It will get better, very slowly. You are not alone. We are all here for each other. When all is said and done, We Are One.

Yours sincerely,
Grazielle
