Hello again! Every month, you find me exploring somewhere new and exciting. Well, this month is certainly no exception – My friends at Medasia have just launched a new concept – a new Mixology Bar with a special team of mixologists flown in from France. I was invited for a VIP cocktail tasting experience a few days prior to the official launch during Christmas week!
I present you Monsieur Flavien Faure, the new team member at Medasia Fusion. Stylish, very well-mannered and passionate about his art of designing special cocktail drinks, he will be residing in Malta and preparing amazing cocktails at Medasia and Medasia Playa for the year ahead.
What is special about these cocktails, which will be offered in addition to the existing cocktail menu, is that they are unique creations by Flavien and his team, made using fresh mixing ingredients as opposed to ingredients purchased off the shelf. For example, the pineapple juice is freshly squeezed, so the flavours that come through are something special. Flavien showed me the new menu and said that if customers want to create a really unique cocktail, they can tell him what flavours they like and what mood they are in, and he will create one especially for them at the Mixology Bar.
To share the honours of cocktail tasting and dressing up in beautiful dresses, I contacted Dajana Laketic a fashionable Maltese woman who loves her sushi and cocktails too. I invited her to join me for a catch up because she recently participated in an international modelling competition and I wanted to find out more about her adventure. How cool is that for a catch up date! Luckily I had the photographer Samuel Meilak join me to shoot these wonderful pictures of the cocktails and the dresses to be able to share with you on my blog!
The Cocktails
Between us, we had the pleasure of trying about 5 or 6 different cocktails – They are all so different in their taste and presentation and they are nothing quite like any of the cocktails I’ve ever tasted. They have that special after taste that makes you stop to try to think – hmm what was that flavour and what was the other! Some drinks we tried included Flavien’s Melon Colada, Espresso Martini, Gimlet & Cucumber, Horse’s Neck and Smoked Punch. Oh my goodness! You know I love my cocktails…These ones are really something. My favourite one to have with sushi is the Gimlet and Cucumber. Diana loved it too!

About Dajana Laketic
Dajana is a beautiful woman, a blonde beauty with a bubbly personality and a big heart. That is something I learnt by meeting her. She gladly accepted my invitation to be here on this special cocktail tasting day so I’d like to share some information about Dajana.
She moved to Malta from Serbia 19 years ago and has since then made this island her home. Apart from her administrative day job, she enjoys modelling and participating in competitions in Malta and overseas. Recently, having placed in the top 3 place in the competition Miss Universe Malta, she got the opportunity to represent Malta in Miss Supranational 2016 co-hosted by two countries – Slovakia and Poland. This means that Dajana spent three weeks in these countries to rehearse for the event and to compete in the final night with another 80 ladies from across the globe. It was a wonderful and challenging experience to be there as a model and a representative of Malta.
Dajana is a person who, like me, is very social and enjoys going out for dinners and drinks with her loved ones and friends and she is also a regular of Medasia. So she was also very pleased to hear of this new cocktails menu because it is a new offering in a place she enjoys visiting often and enjoys the atmosphere too as well as its delicious food and drinks.
