Hi there! Hope you are having a great beginning to the year. We have just said Hello to February 2017. Despite the cold weather, we have had some cosy and heart-warming things to share every day including lots of Valentine related posts – what to do, what to shop for, which restaurants I ve discovered and some posts from my next luxury travel destination – weeee! 🙂
Today I have something sweet to share – a blog about a couple of my latest purchases – ones that I’m kind of obsessed with – this cute pink pullover hoodie and denim jacket,. As you know by now, I have a wide variety of styles when it comes to dressing up or down as it all depends on what I’m up to and what I feel like transforming into that day. Like the rest of you, some days I want to dress up elegantly for an occasion or special activity and other days, my casual, relaxed self kicks in and I just want to feel comfortable and trendy at the same time.
I popped in to BEER KITCHEN for a coffee and a yummy slice of divine cake and worked here for a few hours on my laptop one afternoon, so I can show you what I wore. I must admit that since I have welcomed these two items from River Island at The Point in Malta, they have quickly become a couple of favourite pieces in my wardrobe. Why? Because the hoodie offers the right need for any casual environment and can provide that extra layer of warmth that I need to beat the cold in a cute and trendy way. I have already worn it on its own, with black bomber jacket and also a grey blazer. I have worn it as a warm top to go to dance class and to be 100 percent honest I even slept with it a couple of times, it’s so cosy!! This denim jacket from the new RI collection has the perfect length and amount of rips: It is in line with the current denim trend, as seen on all celebrities! – We like that!
Tip of the day
An important thing to note is that the clothes you wear with a hoodie are equally as important as the hoodie itself as they add to the look and can change the style entirely. In this article, I am wearing them with this jeans jacket but as I said you can also combine it with a puffer jacket or a smart blazer! It works well with both. You just have to then change the footwear and the handbag and the look is transformed. Boom!
The problem going on today is that a lot of people don’t know how to include their favourite hoodies into a suitable look without looking like they are having a lazy pyjama kind of day at home. Hoodies can be some of the most diverse and versatile pieces of clothing in someone’s wardrobe. You have to experiment with them a little to make them look fabulous!
There are 2 main hoodies
Pullover hoodie – The loose, baggy fitting hoodies with drawstrings around the hood. They’re ideal for a comfortable, relaxed look. No hassle, plenty of style.
Zip up hoodie – These are a slimmer fit compared to baggier pullovers and can give off a cleaner, neater look. They’re particularly good if your trying to wear a lot of layers whilst still showing off that t-shirt. It depends if you want the zip or not showing in the look too.
Just pick what you like best and what you think will create the layered effect you want to achieve.
