Don’t be afraid to let them show. An uplifting post today about happy moments, smiles and encouragement to do great things, inspired by listening to the song True Colours by Cyndi Lauper.
I believe that we are in a day and age where appearances matter of course and we are constantly judged for what we choose to show others. Sometimes I meet and speak to women of various ages and nationalities who seem to struggle with the thought of letting go of their inner child and let loose of their fun characters because they are scared to be judged for not being serious or not being good enough to fit into certain friends groups. I understand because I too have suffered from this a few years ago.
Let me tell you this from my heart. When you start to accept yourself for you, and really show your true colours, you will also start to make your own choices based on what you love and want and you will stop going overboard to please others. When I began to accept me totally, I felt excited, like the world opened up and my possibilities were endless. I admit that it didn’t happen overnight but slowly I began to ignore what others thought of me and I just concentrated to do all the things I love – dancing, race cars, go for walks on the beaches, travel and just be silly when I fancy it. It was that adventurous fun lady that my husband fell in love with and I have now a smaller circle of genuine friends who are always there for me no matter what!
Self-acceptance allows you to live on your terms, not those that others dictate for you. Pay attention and be grateful for all the wonderful qualities that make you who you are. And every day, every morning or every night look in the mirror and say to yourself “I love myself just the way I am right now.” You may not believe it but when you will repeat it constantly you will start to feel stronger and better and the world will start to look all the more beautiful.
The Look
In this blog I wore this gorgeous Class Cavalli shirt and matching blue trousers and I paired them with a black leather Patrizia Pepe bag from SYL Boutique at the Plaza Shopping Complex in Sliema. It’s an outfit I’d wear to many events including Sunday lunches with family and friends. The colours are so beautiful!
Hope you enjoyed my post today. I send you love and light
