White dress at Swedish Midsummer

Swedish midsummer is an occasion of large get-togethers and many Swedes worldwide take advantage of it to justify their social obligations and so that they can enjoy the rest of their summer holidays in peace. Apart from Christmas, midsummer, (midsommar) is the most important holiday in the Swedish calendar. And for some, the most important..In many cases, whole families and friends gather to celebrate this traditional high-point of the summer.

In Malta, because of the large community residing on the island, working in i-gaming companies such as Betsson Group, LeoVegas.com and Cherry Gaming, this tradition is also one we celebrate wholeheartedly together. I happen to be married to a Swede and so this year, I made sure to enjoy it too in full swing! How can I refuse the opportunity to wear flowers in my hair, savour traditional Swedish food and drinks and sing Swedish songs such as Små Grodorna with everyone! Skal!!

The Look

We were invited to a large organised dinner party at Medasia Playa that started from late afternoon and was destined to last all night, so I planned to wear something pretty, especially for the occasion. I chose this gorgeous summery, white maxi dress from Accessorize Malta, together with a pretty bag and loose bracelets to match. They were the perfect day to night accessories for the occasion. All the ladies I spoke to really liked the combination!

With regards to these beautiful flowers, two months ago, I was contacted by La Fleur Malta, a local distributor of hand-made flower tiaras to collaborate for my fashion blog and what perfect occasion to do so. The lovely lady that runs her little business brought me a huge collection of pieces to choose from.
