I had a lunch date with my bestie at Paparazzi 29 Restaurant followed by a birthday party at a friend’s place, so I thought I’d grasp the opportunity to go a little earlier than the set time, to enjoy a short walk along the Manoel Island Yacht Marina, to admire all the sailing yachts and super yachts sitting, gracefully berthed.
On this occasion, because the weather was windy but pleasant and not too cold, I opted to wear this white shirt from Esprit’s Winter collection, together with a short leather skirt by Zara. I layered them with a white coat from Mango.
Accessories will complete any outfit. I went for these stylish suede booties by the Spanish brand Bibi Lou and a black and grey print handbag by Guess because the colours and textures blended really well with each other and added a white scarf because it was rather windy that day!
A tip I would like to give in this fashion blog is to try to experiment by mixing your favourite textures such as leather, suede, latex, silk or wool. When there is a lack of colour in an outfit, do not be scared to try out a textured item. I assure you that it will make a huge difference to the overall look.
When carefully paired, these individual superstars create stellar combinations that surprise and excite at the same time.
Try not to wear too much leather or too much suede to avoid it looking over the top but it is perfectly acceptable to wear a lot of different textures in one outfit if they belong to the same colour family.
Simply blend in one item at a time. In this case, the leather and the suede gave the ensemble a kick of sporty elegance. Off I went to a fantastic lunch, followed by a fantastic home party hosted by a friend of the family.
