Twilight Dance

We all enjoy taking our imagination to a different level every so often. We encourage our children at their young ages to watch cartoons and to play pretend games as it helps them to be creative and they have fun doing it.

It is because of the development of the imagination during childhood that adults are able to do many of the tasks that daily life demands. Adults constantly use their imagination to help them invent new things, visualise, solve problems, come up with ideas, and think creatively. No wonder Albert Einstein felt that “imagination is more important than knowledge”!

As for myself, I just love getting carried away into the realms of mystery and the unknown by watching documenteries and reading books about unsolved mysteries. In this shoot, with these items of black clothing by Mexton and shoes by Mineli, I got inspired to play the role of a modern magic mysterious girl of the woods, who walks around with two white wolves by her side at twilight. This picture above is what I had in mind! 🙂

The Look

I love this black lace top. Its fit and texture make it quite strong but playful at the same time, and it accentuates the right spots. I combined it with this tutu style skirt which is really cool. If the weather is cool at night, I would layer it with a short leather jacket for that rock chic style. The team at Mixas Salon styled my hair straight with curls at the end to complete my vision. I wore this outfit to go out to a birthday party with friends and I also wore this outfit recently on an intimate dinner date with my man. He loved it!

For those of you fashionistas who perhaps are less adventurous in the shoe department, I also picked a pair of stiletto shoes by Mineli which would also suit. It depends how you feel really and whether you want a strong finish or a softer touch against the statement top and skirt.

For a bit of behind the scenes talk, my biggest challenge in this shoot was to keep serious in the photos. For those of you who know me personally, I just love to smile and joke all the time, so yes it was fun for the photographer shouting at me “Drop that Smile. Now act serious!” and I think I kind of pulled it off. What do you think?

Personal Tip of the day

Never be afraid to experiment a little with clothing styles. Even if you have to borrow your friends clothes first to see if you are comfortable wiht them, before spending money and buying more things that you might not wear more than once!

I also wish to take this opportunity since I spoke about being creative and having some fun is to try to encourage to follow your dreams and passions and not find excuses but opportunities to do the things that make you happy in life. I have found new purpose in my past year and I hope you do too xxx
