Let’s get sporty!

I love wearing smart clothing but like many modern women of today, having a busy lifestyle meeting customers and running errands, having a few comfortable but trendy clothing options in my closet is a must. Even for travelling, it is important for me feel good in my skin, wearing clothes that just make me relaxed and feel confident at the same time.

These clothes are trendy and superbly comfortable, suitable for fashionable ladies who enjoy exercising and for those days when you want to have that girl next door look but still look groomed and ready for a lunch date with friends. These streetwear styles are something I would wear to a long stroll along the seafront promenade, while on other days I would wear the tops with jeans and stiletto heels and accessorise them with a designer bag and I’ d be so good to go!

This week, my fashion blog is about a streetsyle clothing brand new to Malta called Wearmich which does just that. This brand is exclusively available at The Hanger, an outlet that has just opened its doors in St Lucia Street, Valletta.

The new shop is owned and managed by three life-long fashionista friends Dorianne Richards, Alison Agius and Lorenzo Frusca who are exploring a new venture together in the fashion industry. Entrepreneurial and creative, this trio ensure that their collections for both men and women are unique by their involvement in selecting the fabrics and the designs for their clothing lines, working closely with an Italian designer at Wearmich.

Inspired by their favourite cities they travelled to, you will see t shirts boasting attractive print designs with outlines of city landmarks and a lot of interesting colour mixes including lime green, purple and yellow alongside the more basic black and white. They have both casual and smart pieces but in this fashion blog I am sporting a couple of casual ones.

The photoshoot had to scream fun and confidence so I went for Malta’s colourful skate park in Msida, a popular destination where local skaters, BMXers, and skateboarders congregate to skate, bike, and hangout.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good hoodie. These essential pieces of clothing are comfortable, functional, and versatile. I like this black one because it oozes confidence and class despite its sportiness. The minute I wore it I feel like a super hero ready to conquer these skateboards and anything else that was to come my way.

I also took a fancy to this white and grey long-sleeved top and I will tell you why. Apart from wearing it like this with leggings, it can be worn in reverse as a grey top with a white band on top and three other ways as a dress, with or without sleeves. Now isn’t that awesome! Here I wore it with shiny black leggings from Calzedonia and sparkly pumps by Ovvje. I would also wear it on jeans or on its own as a white dress. You have to try it on to see what I mean.

Fashion Tip of the week:

When wearing hoodies, be creative! Try out different combinations for maximum layering success. A hoodie under a jacket or a blazer works well. Sometimes it looks good over a dress. The options are endless you have to try things out to find out what looks best.

A big thank you goes to the bikers and skaters at the park who took some time to teach me some cool tricks!
