I’m currently looking for inspiration for new furniture for our home in Malta and I had this bright idea to show you some items I liked together with some beautiful outfits! I love to shop from different places; however for a few special blog features, I’m collaborating exclusively with FINO Showrooms to show you some high-end pieces I saw in their beautiful showrooms.
My Look
I welcome this new pair of stunning elegant trousers and matching top from Elisabetta Franchi Collection from Rebelli to my autumn/ winter wardrobe. I couldn’t be happier with them . Black classical items that I will be wearing to lovely dinners and loads of events lined up in my calendar. Here I styled them with a Michael Kors bag, a black pair of Fersini shoes and earrings from Porto at Portomaso. The perfect elegant and comfortable outfit for any stylish occasion!
Let’s Talk Sofas
Sofas are a huge topic. They are not something we buy every day, so we need to get it right when we do. And if you’re anything like my husband and me, we use the sofas in the main living area every single day. We currently have two two-seaters and a three-seater in a beige material. They’re almost 9 years old now and if I’m totally honest, they have seen much brighter days. With our little one playing with crayons and drinking milk, we have not done the set any favours.
What to consider when identifying replacements?
1. Size
It sounds obvious doesn’t it, but you’d be surprised by how many sofas you measure and then just don’t fit in the space you have in your home or office.
2. Layout and function
It’s worth considering what you want from your sofa. Does it need to incorporate a spare bed for example. We have a convertible sofa in one of our bedrooms so it’s worth considering when changing your sofa or buying a new one. We’re happy too with the two seater and three seater approach but we would also consider corner L shaped sets which would also work with our space.
3. Design
We currently have fabric sofas. They look smart in both summer and winter and they are easy to clean. In future, I would like to go for a more high-end, fashionable looking sofa like this red one for example or a soft leather set. It would give the entire room a completely new feel.
4. Style
This choice is entirely your call. Home décor is an extension of your personal fashion style taste I guess. I am one for clean designs that are functional and still look good when it comes to home decor. A sofa for instance, also needs to be comfortable like a pair of new stilettos or else what’s the point of having it? Sofas are a big part of our lives be it at home or in our office spaces and they make a difference to our daily energies so let’s have a good think before we make that choice. I’m loving this one for inspiration.
Red TOGO Sofa by Ligne Roset
A Ligne Roset classic, the Togo sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy has been the ultimate in comfort and style for over fourty years. The timeless collection features an ergonomic design with multiple density foam construction and quilted covers, making each piece both visually attractive and physically inviting. Recent additions to this collection include a mini version of the Togo chair introduced in 2007, and a two-seat lounge introduced in 2013 to celebrate the piece’s 40th anniversary. A seat dreamt up especially for afternoon siestas or lazy evenings spent in the greatest of comfort, the Togo Lounge is a statement piece of furniture on its own as well as the perfect addition to any other contemporary designs such as the Zanette shelving you see in this feature.
I hope that this blog today inspired you to think about furniture in a more fashionable way as well as functional and I hope you liked my outfit too!
