We all have our addictions and one of mine is Denim, and by denim I mean jeans. It seems like I can never have one pair too many and I’m sure that most of you out there feel the same way. You buy a new pair and you feel like a new person. Then you get so attached to them like in a relationship that to actually remove one from the pack you already possess, to make some space is like breaking up with someone. Is it true or what? You cannot let go of them because they are old because some truthfully look better with age!
Denim is fun and casual but is also awesome when styled for looks to wear to dinners out or corporate meetings, it all depends on how you wear it. Today’s pair are from River Island, from the new collection in store and they are simply the perfect fit for me and my petite frame.
I personally think, when it comes to skinny jeans, fabric and washing are most important to consider. I like the fabric to be stretchy, but not like a legging, and the washing somewhere between dark and light washed evenly throughout. I like plain washed jeans like these for a clean elegant or retro style look and ripped ones for that edgy statement. Then there is the length, which is a tricky one, because I like my skinny jeans to be just ankle length. I’m also fussy about how the pockets frame my body.
The Look
In this look on a lunch stop for a divine salad at my friends at BEER KITCHEN at Skyparks, I paired the jeans with a silky top and a three-quarter jacked from the Retro Collection and combined them with a beige bucket bag and casual shoes, all from River Island at The Point in Malta.
Note to self: Wear skinny jeans with nude heels more often. I tend to wear jeans as casuals with flats or with booties. When I wear them with stilettos, they always give a clashing detail I love – elegance meets edgy especially with black, red or nude heels. Note taken.
