The Only Way is Up!

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all well and in good spirits, prepared to face whatever the universe sends your way this week. Despite some emotional and logistic challenges I encountered, last week was one I conquered pretty well I would say. It is part of life to experience difficult moments alongside the great ones. It brings to light even more appreciation for all we have in our lives and the people around us. We have so much to be thankful for and that gives us strength and happy moments to keep moving forward and do the things that give us purpose.

We all love and need some motivation to get us through every week and every month. With regards to fitness, how do you keep motivated? Mine is a combination of looking at fitness sites for tips on health and fitness and some easy-to-make recipes but I also like to look at photos of fit people -men and women wearing fabulous fitness gear. I get triggered to set new goals and of course I like to see what clothing is out there to wear for my activities which are mainly running, weight training and dancing every week.

There are 3 reasons why I called this blog “The Only Way is up”

1 In life I like to aim high, because it is that way that I can make certain things that seem impossible possible. To progress, you need to develop new skills, liaise with experienced professional people and not look at people who are worse off than you but the successful ones who rarely stop at NO as an acceptable answer. The only way is up.

2 My hair while training needs to be held up and away from my face to focus on the tasks at hand, be it running, weight training, dancing or stretching, I need to have my hair up and firmly in place and it is for this reason that I have really become addicted to using invisibobble hair ties, which come in a myriad of colours and strengths, they come packaged in a box containing 3 ties and the box costs €5. 3 This photoshoot was held in El Duque by the Swedish photographer Christopher Staar who is the one who also shot my photos for the NIKE outfit recently. I had to run up this steep hill and perform some dance moves up there without falling off into the rocky bits below. All this had to be done in a few minutes and with a graceful smile as we only had permission for 5 minutes from authorities securing this area. So this was a fun challenge. This had to be done right and it had to be done fast.
Well we managed and we even got some applauses when I ran down the hill! Yess!
