In life all you need is love but then again a little jewellery plus clothes and shoes and bags never hurt nobody right? One eloquent piece of jewellery is all you need sometimes to complement the beauty that is already there within you or to give that touch of class and sparkle pop to your outfit of the day. It can give you that extra touch of happiness and inner confidence because they are special to you for some reason or another. Every jewellery piece tells a story and it becomes yours to relate once you embrace it.
The Look
In these photos I am wearing two striking pieces – a statement ring and pendent earrings from 202 Jewellery to add a touch of elegance to my nude shirt with the embroidered Asian design from River Island. My hair and makeup also helped me achieve a particular look, slightly retro I would say. We photographed this outfit at The Victoria Hotel in Sliema in the Shakespeare Suite. What does your choice of jewellery say about you?
Here’s something to think about. Have you ever asked yourself, what your jewellery says about you and why you choose some styles and textures over others? Whether you are male or female, everyone wears some form of jewellery or accessory – be it a watch or a ring. Personally, I have so many styles I go for, because as a personality I am extremely versatile and my fashion styles are quite varied as some of you know by now. That means by jewellery and accessory range is relatively broad to be able to carry off the look I have in mind.
So for purposes of the blog and for you, I have done a little research on my family and friends and I have come up with these type of persons’ common characteristics through the type of jewellery they usually choose. Feel free to add your own too!
Bling: A bold and sparkly piece says that you are a strong person who does not lack in confidence. If you have a strong character, a go getter and are not afraid to be noticed, a large ring like the one I’m wearing in these photos or a long chandelier set of earrings would be an excellent choice for you.
Vintage pieces: Shows you are a feminine personality with tendencies to be emotional and sentimental. You like to know stories and if the pieces belonged to someone related like your grandmother, you love them all the more.
Hoop earrings: The open circle insinuates that you are open to new things and are consistent in your actions and beliefs. As with large hoop earrings, sporting a circle necklace lets others know that you have an eye on current fashion trends and can appreciate attention to detail.
Pearls: The pearl lovers are the ones who seek simplistic touches of elegance and classy glamour. Like the jewellery you wear, you stick to honouring the classics.
Costume or Fabric Jewellery: You’re probably a person who appreciate handmade crafts and enjoys experimenting with styles.
Statement bracelets or necklaces: Large bracelets or a group of smaller ones will draw attention to your wrist, while a necklace will draw attention to your face. A layered look in necklaces multi-strand or several necklaces worn together may help to disguise imperfections as the eye is drawn toward your jewelry and not your figure flaws.
Charm bracelets and necklaces: These show you are feminine and that you love to remember special moments. You are sentimental and unique in many ways. It also means you are practical, calm and hands-on in life.
Coloured jewellery: People who love coloured jewellery have a special love for life and they enjoy sharing their love and warmth with others. They love to travel and have an open heart and mind. It could also mean that they are quite shy persons but wear this colourful jewellery to feel more confident and centred if these pieces are real stones from the earth like crystals for example.
