Elegance and glamour reign at Malta Fashion Week Day 3

Maria Cutajar, Headpieces by Adalia, Herminas Reea and Gaetano Couture

We gather once again at the Malta Fashion Week venue to celebrate design, creativity, passion and innovation. Today I attended two fashion shows and two presentations which impressed me with their finesse and attention to detail. I wore this lovely tailor made design by Gaetano Couture for this event. MARIA CUTAJAR

PRESENTATION: DEJJEM F’ QALBNA (ALWAYS IN OUR HEART)

First up was the presentation Dejjem F’ Qalbna designed with the memory of her grandfather in mind. .Maria always remembers him creating models for balconies. Her inspiration stems from this. I have been observing this designer’s work and I m beginning to like it more and more, year after year. Although the presentation felt melancholy and emotionally sad due to the theme and the colour palettes were dark, I enjoyed the creativity and the variety of designs with use of various textures very much. I believe that her ability to create wonderful and classy designs using fabric manipulation is one of Maria Cutajar’s strengths.

Make up for this presentation was beautiful. Headed by make up artist Natasha Polidano assisted by Ieva Dasciope and Anne Marie Bonello.

This was an excellent presentation. Thumbs up Maria. Thank you for some inspiration.

HERMINAS REEA: FASHION SHOW: BUTTERFLY EFFECT

The brand Herminas Reea arrived to Malta from Greece and presented a marvellous collection titled “Butterfly Effect”. The collection included elegant and feminine creations, including impressive evening dresses made of tulle, lace beads and embossed fabrics.

We witnessed a wonderfully presented fashion including dresses in different lengths and corsets in blue, white and grey. This brand is extremely classy and it is always a privilege to attend her show. The crowd enjoyed this show. You could tell by the reactions to every piece.

Hair and make up was soft and beautiful. Make up was by Tallitha DImech and assisted by Caroline Attard, Shakira Camilleri, Henry Galea and Joiada Vella Micallef. Hair team was led by Priscilla Mifsud Cini, Clayton Balzan, Simon Azzopardi, Diane Azzopardi and Maria Caruana.

I would like to congratulate everyone involved in putting this fantastic show together.

GAETANO FASHION SHOW: LEGACY

The final spot was reserved for Gaetano. This humble, award-winning couturier who designs dresses for divas does not need my introduction in the fashion industry in Malta. He specialises in elegant statement gowns, ideal for weddings, red carpet events and any other occasions that require a statement piece. Oh my goodness! There were soooo many gowns I loved from the runway show today and I could totally see myself wearing almost all of them.

The show started with a presentation of a video including the 3 Maltese celebrities that opened and closed the show. I am proud to be a part of this video too.

I have known Gaetano for 3 years already and I knew it from the first show I watched, that with time this young man will push himself to become better and better at what he does, and every time we work together on a project, the chemisty is amazing. In fact, my beautiful gown this evening was created specifically for me, to match the new collection #Legacy. It is a stunning dress, almost feels out of a classic movie.

In this collection Gaetano is inviting all the people that believe in him to endorse his vision that is to empower women to bring out the best in themselves. The word legacy is a very important word. What will we leave behind?

Well done goes to the lead make up artist Marlene Vassallo, assisted by Rodianne Caruana, Gordon Sultana, Cristina Moncoli, Kay Grech Coldman, Yasmine Jade Bonello and Kim Deguara. Hair was prepared by Svetlana Tanti, Gail Farrugia, Berta Bonnici, Oxana Apap and Sharon Castillo under the direction of lead hair stylists Matthew and Rodrick Castillo.

Loved this fashion show and can’t wait to go to his little store in Qormi Malta to design my next dress!
