What to Get Him for Valentine’s Day

It’s that month of the year when we are excited about February 14th. What to do? What to buy? Will he get me something haha Well, my husband and I always try to make every day count and every day special. We are both very relaxed with each other and that makes our relationship easy-going.

We appreciate the simple things like sunrises together, we go for walks in countrysides and on sandy beaches, we bond in relaxing spaces, take road trips and make time for one another. When you have kids, it does become more difficult to organise alone time! We enjoy going to the movies and sharing a large pop corn and going out for dinner and of course we love our lazy days indoors too.

And then there is Valentine’s Day, Birthdays and Anniversaries which are days that should be like the rest really, but we try to make it more special and gives us an excuse to explore something together.

The Spa massage experience at Myoka Spa was a great idea for example, because the ambience of this place enabled us to completely relax, enjoy the moment and spend some quality time doing something different to what you would normally do. This year, On Valentines Day, we will probably go for a long boozy lunch somewhere nice in Malta. Not sure yet! Will let you know the day after here or on my facebook page! 

Perform an act of charity. This range of bracelets that draws inspiration from the jewellery worn by soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and has an associated fundraising and awareness campaign. Significant contributions from the sales are donated to the Help for Heroes charity and other organisations assisting wounded veterans and their families.

The bracelets that are worn in the field are braided by the soldiers with parachute cord. They are known as survival bracelets because they can be unraveled and the paracord can be used for many purposes. They are also exchanged among soldiers as friendship bracelets. Often, a uniform button is sewn on and used as the clasp. The button clasp symbolises the uniform and the clasped bracelet symbolises the bond among the soldiers that can never be broken. To some, each knot in the bracelet symbolises a fallen hero.
