With Valentine’s day coming up, many couples seek romantic ideas on what to do together. There are of course dinner dates, holiday breaks. You can also take the opportunity to take the day off and relax with your partner at a luxury spa. It is a great way to spend some quality time together and get that feeling of being somewhere exotic without having to actually travel. You can relax, unwind and appreciate each other. Whether you are a new couple or one who has been together forever, it is a treat for all. We had the immense pleasure of trying one last week at MYOKA SPA at Le Meridien.
We booked ourselves the FEEL THE LOVE package for both of us together which includes a hot stone back massage, a hydrating facial, including tea and chocolates, prosecco and free use of the beautiful spa facilities. When we actually experienced it all, we got much more than we expected and the value for money was excellent. Here is our story!
Our experience at Myoka Spa at Le Meridien
Myoka Spas in Malta are renowned for their outstanding service, attention to detail. All the therapists are well trained in hospitality and handpicked for their high quality techniques and charisma, to cater for 5 star and 6 star clients from around the world. My husband and I were very excited to try this. The last massage we had together was in Thailand precisely three years ago!
It is several hours of escape from the daily routine. First of all, as soon as you step into the cool, calm and quiet spa at Myoka you’ll be able to put your daily stresses to the side and concentrate on just you and your partner.
We started off by changing into comfortable clothing provided by the Spa – crisp white bath robes and slippers. Our treatment began with an invigorating cup of green tea and tasty chocolates in the serene outdoor garden with fresh plants and outdoor furniture and flowing water features to encourage relaxation and feelings of well-being. There was also an indoor area with several tables and chairs with red cushions, with other guests who were there sitting and relaxing before or after treatments. We were introduced to Sabina the Spa Manager, who welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief insight into what we were about to experience. We enjoyed this introduction very much.
We were then invited to go to the massage area upstairs, located above the indoor pool, one which is sectioned off for added privacy and relaxation. A side-by-side couples massage is more than just an hour’s treatment. We enjoyed a delightful foot bath in the relaxation room performed in harmony by the two excellent therapists who encouraged us to relax and enjoy the moment. We were offered prosecco and some more chocolates, all included in the package, and this helped us relax even more before the hot stone massage. It was the perfect time to lay back, relax and catch up with my partner, without any interruptions from anyone.
We were then invited to enter into the treatment room for our indulgent side-by-side massage. OMG. The room – It looked so pretty with all the perfect lighting, pretty red petals positioned into heart shapes and the scent of exotic Asian smells which really eased us into the right mood. This was lovely as you can see from the photos!
Ladies and Gentlemen, if you wish to earn some brownie points from your significant other, well a gift like this will gain you a few. It looks so romantic! Also to add to the plus points, Myoka are renowned for having some of the best massage therapists, so you can rest assured all those pesky knots and pains will be unwound.
So, we experienced a couples massage, in the same room at the same time, each by our own therapist. Using warm oils and hot stones, we had a full body massage including a facial. The therapists were excellent. You are allowed to talk to eachother during the massage or be silent if you prefer. Well Marco was so relaxed and silent, he actually slept after about 10 minutes and I was happy to see he was enjoying it so much! I loved it too. We live in such a hectic world that to take a few hours off sometimes is such a big deal and it shouldn’t be, right? Time like this with loved ones is more precious than anything.
When our couples massage was over, we stayed at this beautiful spa a little more to enjoy the lux amenities, including their indoor jacuzzi sauna and indoor pool. When you book a spa treatment you are welcome to stay as long as you wish, until you feel relaxed, calm and fully reconnected with one another.
