Hello from Dubai

Hello and good morning from the beautiful city of Dubai! We are here this week on a working holiday in the largest city of the United Arab Emirates, so my plan is to upload a few things from here and share some photos and videos daily on facebook and Instagram throughout this week followed by more detailed posts with travel tips and travel photography next week!

Well, from the few days we’ve been here, I can already understand what makes the emirate attractive to millions of travellers. It offers something for everyone, whether they are children, couples, families, groups or older travellers. A synonym for luxury and business, it is a true paradise for tourists. Dubai, the city of the most amazing futuristic mega projects in the world including the tallest building, the largest shopping centre, the largest fountain in the world, first impressions have left me somewhat in awe and kind of breathless.

The iconic landmarks such as the Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, Dubai also offers several more attractions and experiences that are unique to this desert oasis. Stunning beaches, water sports, indoor ice skating, a host of desert activities, a growing arts and culture scene, and amazing cuisines that span the globe are just a few of the other things that make Dubai, well, Dubai.

With assistance from Rocs Travel, we are staying on the Palm Islands at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray resort, a 5 star beach resort. I will be posting a full, genuine review about it at the end of my stay some time next week.

However, as a blogger who enjoys to share things I experience, I wish to begin by sharing one particular experience the first evening in Dubai at The Rib Room restaurant at our resort. It was my husband’s birthday, a day filled with surprises including a massage at the Talise Spa, surprise cake, wine and chocolates in the room, surprise gifts from me and the resort and a romantic dinner date. I wore my new red dress from London F Café, Stuart Weitzman shoes and Michael Kors purse, red Inglot HD lipstick and set out for our date night!!

The Rib Room at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience. Inspired by the original Rib Room founded in 1961 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London UK, it features the finest meat and rib dishes from across the globe.

Served by Jena and very hospitable team at The Rib Room , we ordered some divine starters including king scallops served in a white wine and chervil veloute wrapped in filo pastry and beech-smoked Loch Fyne salmon to share accompanied by a lovely wine.

For meat lovers, this restaurant in Dubai serves you prime selected beef cuts, seasoned with the finest salt and pepper blend and grilled to perfection; heaven on a plate! – the most succulent, well cooked wagyu rib eye steaks ever. As mains, we ordered the Master Kobe Wagyu rib eye medium rare and the wagyu tenderloin beef, which came served with mixed vegetables on the side. Wow! Truly delicious. The dessert was also wonderful as to be expected
