Brand Influencers on Social Media

Influencer marketing is a powerful way to generate visibility for your brand. The concept is simple: Find an “influencer,” someone in your industry with a large social following and respect within the community. Then get this individual to share your material, engage with you or otherwise mention your brand.

“There is a shift to focus on quality rather than quantity when dealing with social influencers. “More and more, brands are turning to people with far less numbers of followers—sometimes even as low as 5,000—to help share their messages. In return, a brand receives intangible benefits like authenticity, a unique point of view, deeper storytelling and the potential of reaching a more tailored audience,” writes Rebecca Suhrawardi, fashion journalist and FORBES contributor.

Finding and working with the right influencers

Of course, one of the most critical factors in any influencer-marketing program is your team’s ability to find the right people to work with and set the stage for a successful long-term collaboration. If you are searching for a blogger or a personality with a strong social media following, you want to ensure that he or she fits in with your brand and must be a genuine choice.

It also may be the most challenging part of the equation, as it involves multiple tasks, including:

• Identifying the best voices for you and your brand
• Engaging top candidates and soliciting their participation
• Negotiating specific terms, fees, and deliverables
• Seeding, tracking, and managing their efforts on an ongoing basis

You might find it helpful to break the process down into smaller, individual steps, then use some expert-recommended techniques to further streamline your efforts. On the otherhand, bloggers and personalities also should select brands they enjoy to be associated with and that fit into their lifestyle. That’s what I like to do and I find it works for me just fine.

This photoshoot for example was one co-ordinated and styled by a fellow blogger and friend Pavli Medvedova. A group of women got together to create an impactful set of photos to represent their brand vision. Pavli kindly selected me and Italian DJ Alessia de Martino to represent a few brands for a campaign and magazine feature for Badasswardrobe.com. The photoshoot included brands of local fashion desigers Carla Grima Atelier, BoboStar Jewellery and Ritienne Zammit, all brands I have had the pleasure of wearing or collaborating with in the past 12 months.

It was photographed by Matthew B Spiteri in the new Highline Suites at Intercontinental Malta. It was a fun shoot in between styling and chatting and laughing at silly jokes, the results were excellent and these photos turned out fab!
