Travel Look for the Canary Islands

This year, we chose to travel to a warmer climate for Christmas and the New Year and to be with our Swedish family who reside there so I packed a lot of stuff for myself and my little family and off we went again to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands. It takes two flights to get there from Malta with a stop at either Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona airport with Ryanair or Vueling airlines. So being comfortable is an absolute must especially when travelling with a child.

Dressing appropriately for air travel means knowing what will keep you comfortable on the plane. And, given the cramped seats and various temperature changes on flights, this isn’t always easy. A touch of style is essential for any jet-setting flyer’s wardrobe. No need to look shabby and wearing pyjama style outfits, for the sake of comfort – please! But dressing with a bit of style plus comfort could help you get a free upgrade.

My Travel Look

I like to maintain in-flight comfort and cleanliness by wearing breathable fabrics — materials that allow air and moisture to pass through — like cotton, silk, or linen. On this trip I went for this casual look from River Island at The Point including a comfortable shirt, black jeans and this jacket with SQUAD embossed at the rear.
It’s best to wear extremely comfortable, mostly flat shoes on the plane and airports — think of your poor feet after hours of sitting, standing, and carrying your daughter to the changing rooms – till you reach your destination. You’ll also want to select shoes that are easy to slip on and off when passing through airport security. These black lace-ups from River Island this season have been a blessing. In fact I also wore them for another Travel Look on holiday to Tuscany.

The rest you can see in these lovely pics. Thank you to photographer Samuel Meilak Photography who met me a few hours before take-off to capture these images. My husband was a little stressed about the timings. Being a Swede, he hates to be late, but it was well worth it and we got to the airport on time, looking and feeling fabulous! We were on our way to the Canary Islands! Weee!
