Celebrating World Oceans Day with MAC COSMETICS MALTA

On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honour our ocean, which connects us all. Get together with your family, friends, community, and millions of others around our blue planet to start creating a better future.

By working together, we can – and will – protect and restore our shared ocean. Join this growing global celebration on 8 June with continuing engagement year-round!

The surface of the Earth is approximately 70.9% water and 29.1% land. The former portion is divided into large bodies termed oceans. The World Factbook recognizes and describes five oceans – the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Southern Ocean, and Arctic Ocean. It is up to us to monitor and prevent damage being done from our personal actions, daily actions by each person, and larger actions by huge production companies and establishments across our beautiful globe.

How am I participating this year? Every year I do something small on this day just to be a Voice of Love and Truth. This year, 2020, I have joined forces with MAC COSMETICS to raise awareness about plastic waste in the ocean, by creating this dress made entirely out of recyclable materials and talking about this in a fashionable way through my Blog and Social Media feeds currently followed by a substantial amount. If I can help seed some awareness and the wish to conscious care for the planet in a few hundreds, then I m so happy!

I am going to be at The Point on Monday June 8th meeting with clients at the store and raising awareness about ocean-related issues arising in various parts of the globe from 4pm Malta Time onwards. So feel free to visit. I would love to meet you and hear what your thoughts are about The Environmental Issues we are facing !

Get Free Makeup From MAC By Returning Your Empty Containers

Furthermore, as you know MAC has a recycling program running all year. If you did not know, well let me tell you how it works in the simplest way I know.

MAC is encouraging its customers to reduce waste with the Back to MAC recycling program, which has been kicking around for a few years now. Here’s how it works: first, collect six empty MAC product containers. MAC accepts “primary packaging,” meaning the material that actually encases the product. Lipstick tubes, lash cases, blush compacts, eye shadow pots, foundation tubes and bottles, and skincare bottles all count. “Secondary packaging,” such as the cardboard box your makeup came in, does not.

Once you’ve sussed out your qualifying items, return them to a MAC store near you, or through MAC Cosmetics online. You will then be entitled to one free lipstick of your choice.

MORE ABOUT WORLD OCEANS DAY

Hundreds of events around the world will mark World Oceans Day on 8 June, fr0m beach clean ups to live streams from conservationists.

This year there is a focus on calling for world leaders to commit to protecting 30% of oceans by 2030, to combat the climate crisis and protect marine biodiversity.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year’s celebrations will be different, with many events taking place online or in a socially-distanced way. We’d like to hear about what local ocean issues you are most concerned about.

Share your views

Do you often find plastic on your nearest beaches? Or perhaps you’ve noticed less water pollution recently, as we saw in Venice during lockdown. Do you live near a marine habitat that is being destroyed, or successfully restored?

Maybe you are part of a fishing community, and want to see a balance between sustainability and livelihoods. Are you worried about rising sea levels near you? Or perhaps you live or work at sea, and want to share your experiences of conservation issues you’ve come across.
