My Floral Guess Dress

A visit to Malta’s Capital City Valletta takes me to a distinct street called Strait Street or Strada Stretta. This street was an entertainment centre for sailors and marine military forces during the period many years ago, when Malta was a British military base. Recently restaurants and wine bars including The Loop Bar have been restored to their authentic form, offering a selection of dishes and drinks to locals and travellers.

I chose to do the shoot here because of the vibrant colours and the interesting character of the place, which would help to show the dress really well.

I am wearing this black dress with red printed roses from the winter Guess Collection.

I love this dress because it is suitable to wear to many occasions including lunches with friends, meetings with clients. It is short and not too tight on the waist allowing for a nice flow and comfort for a number of hours. I would even wear it to host one of my Malta TV episodes! Well, that is what I thought when I got it.

I paired it here with a high-heeled pair of black shoes also by Guess, but I would also consider wearing it with red patent shoes or black leather knee high boots for a more casual look.

I accessorised the outfit with these fancy long earrings, a red designer handbag by Ripani and a chunky black ring. I am also sharing with you a choice of another beautiful handbag by Braccialini that I would also wear with this dress if I were to wear it with the boots.

Tip: When accessorising, it is best to always think of where you are going, what time of day, what do you need to carry with you and what jacket are you wearing on top of your dress.

Just for fun, because it was a sunny day and it matched the red and black outfit perfectly, I had a little fun with this pretty Moschino umbrella, singing in the Maltese sun and dancing like nobody’s watching in front of Auberge de Castille.
