A spotlight on Bijoux Do Jewellery

Throughout history, jewellery has been created and worn to finish a look or to make a statement. Stylish women everywhere feel like they have something missing when not wearing earrings or a jewellery piece with their outfit. (I understand that feeling and believe me I have been known to drive back home to put on a pair of earrings fifteen minutes later, because I would have left the house without them!).

In this fashion blog, I would like to introduce you to a gorgeous jewellery brand called Bijoux Do. These are hand-made, customised jewellery pieces made by Dorianne Zammit Cutajar, a talented woman, based on the island of Malta who not only personally sports a unique fashion sense with an artistic twist but she has a beautiful personality to light up a room.

For these reasons, I approached Dorianne a few weeks ago. I really admire her work and I wished to be the one to help her showcase this unique brand, in one of my blog features. I promised her I would organise a photo shoot if she was interested and after meeting her for one coffee and a chat, the magic teamwork began. Two weeks later we were on location shooting these marvellous statement pendants and rings.

The magnificent 18th Century Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar was the perfect setting for this photo session. With its stunning décor and noble history, we thought the modern baroque theme we had in mind would really work here.

Hair was styled with a middle parting by the styling team at Mixa’s Salon. Makeup was done by Diandra Mattei using an innovative airbrush makeup technique, as seen on Hollywood celebrities. I requested dark eyes and dark lips to complement the theme, the styling and the hair style.

I love these jewellery pieces because they ooze originality and they are so versatile to wear on any type of outfit. When you wear one of these items, you immediately feel special and stylish. They simply stand out in their opulence and originality. Love them!

One can choose the preferred colour scheme and design to match a particular outfit or special occasion. The pieces are made with Swarovski jewels, assembled by hand, one by one.

As you can see in this blog, we have experimented with some smart outfits and some elegant outfits taking inspiration from both Baroque and equestrian looks. You can choose pieces that suit your personality and fashion flavour.

My personal tip today:
In terms of building your jewellery collection at home, I suggest you try to build a collection of pieces that can work together; then, add a couple of pieces that really are stand-out or statement pieces, in terms of colour or volume. Your jewellery should always reflect your personal style.
