Oriental Queen

Following an overwhelming interaction of the teaser photo which was released on my Facebook and Instagram page last weekend about the green dress, with interested followers asking about it, I thought of sharing the blog sooner than later.

Last week, I was trying on some pretty cocktail style dresses at Chante Boutique for Valentine’s weekend. I chose one and wore it to my dinner date with my husband. However, as I was in the shop, I spotted this beautiful long dress on the rack amongst the other gorgeous pieces. I tried it on. It fit me like a glove, and the rest was history. I had to shoot this dress for the fashion blog!

I decided with the photographer to best capture the shots of this elegant gown at the Chinese Gardens of Serenity in Malta because it would allow us to show its best highlights here. Nestled in the heart of Santa Lucia in close proximity to the Malta International Airport, these Chinese-themed gardens offer a pleasant relaxing destination for locals and travellers. It is a place to visit with your family, just to see it and relax a little near the flowing water fountains, walk over the bridges, and observe the different types of doors with specific meanings.

First of all, I like the colour of this dress. It does suit ladies with different complections. This figure hugging dress style really accents your natural curves so you must be careful to keep your tummy tucked in at all times, like the professionals do in the beauty pageants and just like Hollywood celebrities do on the red carpets.

Speaking of red carpets, I really wish to be invited some time very soon to some red carpet or award-type event because this dress would be my number one choice. Any excuse to dress up and look fabulous, right?!

I appreciate the design, its light flowy fabric and I particularly like the gold coloured hand-made trimmings it has across the top. These touches give the gown that extra touch of elegance.

Personal Tip:

When wearing this style of dress, ensure you are wearing the right underwear so as to ensure the best silhouette, without showing any underwear marks. Also, because it is very long, you will need to practise to lift the dress when walking up or down stairs before going to your big event, to avoid any unwanted mishaps.
