People have a sort of inexplicable nature about them … they want to see someone on the beach in Thailand, The Maldives or in a gorgeous resort and looking amazing and flawless in a bikini.
Overcrowded beaches aside, the place where it feels most aggressively like summer right now may in fact be on Instagram, where sun kissed bodies (male and female), blue waters and, yes, pink inflatable swans have turned my feed (and, I’m guessing, many of yours) into a never-ending party and dream holiday bonanza, shrunk down to 750 pixels wide per pic.
Nowhere is this truer than among the attractive fashion influencers and bloggers around the globe for whom sandy shores and the sprawling 5 and 6 star resorts are only a brand-sponsored trip away. Naturally, this kind of lifestyle by bloggers and influencers requires an extensive swimwear collection that can hold its own against the scenery. So this year, we have taken this matter into our hands by first of all shopping for several bikinis, swimsuits and beachwear and accessories and we have also teamed up with various fashion brands to show you some of our favourite picks. Summer is short so we can only do all this before the winter season comes along when we will switch to …well, erm …less bikinis and more cosy items, and more layering!
Me posting one time for a swimsuit brand is really going to do nothing for a brand unless someone is like, ‘Oh my god, I’m obsessed with that one piece. I have to have it.’ But that’s usually not how it works. It’s people seeing something from the same brand over and over, and when they do, they’re like, ‘Ok, this person really, really loves this. I say this because this season I have had the pleasure to work with quite a few bikini brands I loved shopping from personally and the response has been fab. This trust is especially important when you’re asking your followers or customers to get inspired and excited to drop a few hundred euros on a bikini — or, alternatively, when you excite someone enough to try to wear a certain style of swimming costume they would have never worn before. Yeah! The power of social media and brand influencers is astounding.
Let’s now talk about this looks and one of the hottest infinity pools on the island of Malta this year. Summer 2017 has been such fun, in particular with so many gorgeous beach clubs opening on the islands and this one on the rooftop of Hugo’s Hotel is one of them. I personally have had to pleasure to be at the official opening and I also am honoured to have met Mr Hugo Chetcuti the man behind this strong hospitality brand a few times this year during some events, and I highly commend him as one of Malta’s top entrepreneurs whose projects are undeniably successful and also a gentleman who shows very humble and genuine approach to persons around him and also to his dedicated staff. INFINITY by Hugos’s is one of the many projects that has been received very well. The rooftop is a pleasant venue and an afternoon or evening spent here by the pool overlooking the view of St George’s Bay with cool music in the background and superb cocktails served by the bar staff makes you get totally immersed in the summer vibe and I’m pretty sure it will also be buzzing in the winter months ahead. It is one of the perfect places to have some beautiful photos too.
Tropical Yellow Bikini from Piccinino
The bikini I wore this week is a tropical pattern. I got it from Piccinino at The Point. As you can see, it has a vibrant tropical print in bright yellow, green and coral colours. A triangle with a very petite lace up bottoms. As you have seen in my other blog “My New Bikini & Matching Kaftan”, I go weak at the knees for matching pareos or sarongs, so the fact that this one has a matching shirt, sold me and I had to have it too.
Shot in this beautiful venue the morning of the Public Holiday at 8 am before all the people arrived, we managed to capture some pretty images to share on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus and of course this blog! I also managed to drink this good looking mango and passion fruit cocktail as it was too good to waste! Thank you to the cute bar man who made it for me so early in the morning. But that is HUGO’s team for you.
Wish you all a fantastic week ahead and look out for some more pretty swimwear blogs coming your way this month!
