The minute I set my eyes on this skirt, I couldn’t leave the shop without it. As you know by now, I am a huge fan of black and gold combos and I am posting these photos because the weather in Malta this week is getting warmer during the day and yet still is a little chilly at night.
The top, skirt, jacket and shoes are from Zara in Tenerife and I love how they look together! I had this look in mind and couldn’t wait to share it with you with photos by Mark Thornton Photography. The short top is only a subtle reveal and therefore remains classy looking for those of you who are not too keen on showing too much skin. With regards to the accessories here, I chose to pair the clothes with these red Versace sunglasses from Vision Opticians as opposed to black or gold ones to create a colour pop effect. Maybe it is something you too can try in your outfits ie choosing a third colour for the eyewear or purse when you only have two colours in your outfit.
Speaking of black and gold, I’m thinking of all the golden accessories I will be seeing in the streets and churches of Malta this week. Many Christians around the world observe Good Friday on the Friday before Easter Sunday and the islands of Malta and Gozo are no exception. Good Friday commemorates Jesus Christ’s Passion, crucifixion and death, which is told in the Christian bible. In Malta in particular there are quite strong traditions. The Maltese Islands are predominantly Roman Catholic, and the Good Friday Procession remains to this day a genuine, voluntary, devotional tradition, the likes of which can only be seen in Italy, Spain, the Philippines and Puerto Rico, and it is one of the top events in Malta to experience.
On Good Friday, everything kind of stops. It is a public holiday, all Maltese businesses are closed and the traffic is diverted away from most town centres to make way for the grand processions which involve participation by hundreds of dedicated persons. I’m looking forward to experience these with my family a few days before Easter Sunday!
Wish you all a lovely day! Feel free to comment about my outfit or about the Maltese traditions here in my blog feed or on My Facebook Page where I share most of my content.
