If there’s one thing I do love about fashion — and trust me, I love a lot of things — it is asymmetric designs. Off-the-shoulder tops, asymmetric necklines, deconstructed shirts. Of course perfect symmetry is beautiful and safe. But maybe the tailoring world isn’t always supposed to be about what’s only classic and safe. Maybe sometimes it is supposed to be about originality, uniqueness, and statement pieces. An asymmetrical hem, silhouette, or an asymmetrical accessory punch can be an easy way to exercise that creativity. I love all types of styles especially classic styling but I do enjoy a statement piece when I’m in the mood – and that is quite often! That’s a part of me!
In this blog I’d like to show you this look I styled with an outdoor party or summer launch event in mind. This three- piece outfit from London F Café is one that certainly stands out. Both the pattern and the cut is one that is not so classic and when I saw it on the clothes rail I thought “hmm interesting” and was not too sure but tried it on and gave it my personal shot. By styling it with these red stiletto shoes from Aldo and a red purse from Primadonna Collection, I gave the look an elegant touch despite its dramatic cut and daring low cut body. To finish off the glamourous look, the red lip, sleek ponytail and the Versace sunglasses finished off this look I had in mind – and I do love the result! Of course if you are the type to prefer a more classic look depending on the occasion, replace the body with a plain high neckline top for example
With Bernard Polidano as my chosen photographer for this feature and Natasha Polidano for makeup and on-site assistance, we captured these gorgeous photographs of this outfit on the Birgu Waterfront together with the atmosphere of Malta and some mega-yachts berthed here in Vittoriosa, probably one of the most amazing marinas in terms of setting and location. The ambience at Grand Harbour Marina is sophisticated yet warm and modern at the same time just like my outfit today.
Hope you enjoyed this feature today and much as we enjoyed putting it together. Wish you all a pleasant day!
